Safe Drinking Water Project – Herat

The Just Future Project, led by the AWEC in Herat province, is dedicated to empowering local communities across Herat province, particularly in the districts of Guzara, Injil, and Jebrail. This small grant assistance serves as a vital intervention in supporting urgent priorities including access to Justice, Education, social cohesion, food, shelter, and healthcare.

The intervention at Abu Mansour Ali Girls' School addresses critical infrastructure needs, specifically the restoration of water supply and sewage facilities that had deteriorated and were causing structural damage to the school building.

Key Activities

• As part of this project, MSSADO implemented several core activities:

• Community awareness sessions on water safety and hygiene

• Promotion of safe water handling and storage practices

• Engagement with community members to support sustainable water use

• Monitoring and follow-up to ensure long-term impact
